Back to School

Well, I love traditions... so, some that I'm considering/doing this year come from here and here and from my head... We already did separate date with mommy school shopping days. Kylie chose a movie on hers and Ari the escalators and play place at the mall and a stuffed animal.

I think that we are going to do the school fairy (treat in bookbags which are hung on their doors) (Like the 12 days of Christmas).

A spoonful of sugar to make you have a sweet year on the morning of...

A giant cookie to celebrate the end of the first day...

And, my own version of the Kissing Hand... I'm going to get a little container for notes and a Hershey's Kiss everyday...

Happy Mother's Day

When You Thought I Wasn’t Looking

“When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I heard you say a prayer, and I knew there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don’t.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I felt you kiss me good night and I felt loved and safe.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw how you handed your responsibilities even when you didn’t feel good and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw tears come to your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it’s all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted to e everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I learned most of life’s lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I looked at you and wanted to say, “Thanks for all the things I saw….When you thought I wasn’t looking.”

What Am I Going to Be?

I remember feeling overwhelmed with what I should do or go my senior year... Then, for 3 years, I was perfectly content and happy, knowing that I was where I should be teaching... I loved it... Then, I became a full time mom, totally happy with what I was and loving it... But, it was also a difficult decision at the time... Now, I am coming up to another stage... Should I go back to school and teach a bit again with great benefits and the ability to travel/ pay off the house after the first year? (But that's all really scary to go back to school and interview!) Should I get a part time temporary type job without as much money, but a little less preparation- still fear of the finding it part? Or, should I just volunteer and work around the house? Or, should I pursue photography- also scary because I don't know how to start a buisness? Yikes!!! I am so unsure and lost and scared... need to pray!!!

Chloe's Home and Video

On Monday, tiny Chloe got to come home from the NICU! After 4 1/2 months, it was such an awesome day!!!! I was honored that they asked me to come along to take pictures and get to watch!! Here's Chloe's video (with pictures from her blog) and ones from when she came home!!!! http://ouryoungshootchloe.blogspot.com/2010/01/chloes-nicu-video.html You will have to download Active X probably before watching it... My friend Ann said that she couldn't see it with her Apple computer though :( So, she helped me with a spot that might work for Apple users... I will come back after I upload to there to give a link for that video! :)

Doing not Getting Done

"I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less”
See project @ Live in the Moment

I think I'm going to make a version of this for the white room... I've been surfing around the web looking for inspiration for the room... I'm going to do one aqua-ish wall (with possible chocolate stripe), one chocolate brown (with photos all over it), and two a tan-ish/ beige color because they will go down the hall and into the kitchen so they have to match those rooms...

I found these cool things while surfing:

Here's how to make it: link

some pictures from today...

Today, we painted paper snowflakes with crayons over the stove! Then, we sprinkled on some glitter! Super fun! All of us tried it-even Jas! :)
Found this idea from Family Fun Digital Magazine (we altered it with food coloring and sprinkled in some bird seed to see what would happen)... We're going to hang them up outside tomorrow after they freeze.

Ari woke up from her nap with Pippi Longstocking hair! :)

Crayon Painting!

Look at this! Ari and I are going to try it tomorrow after going to storytime (if Kylie doesn't have a delay for the 3rd time in a row!). I'm going to do a little snow theme with her this week (so original, isn't it?! lol!)

one little word

I got this idea from Ali Edwards... One Little Word

my word is "dance" i want to revel in being with my girls (we always dance during the credits of a movie and it's such a fun memory), be close to my husband and SHOW him how much he's loved, talk to God about the little things and enjoy being in His presence, exercise regularly because i'm almost done losing my weight!

resolutions

i want to:

complete project 365 this year
learn how to make teas
enjoy many family times
use my blog more
do one little word
pray more- just little prayers throughout the day
make goal at weight watchers
show jas how much i care often through little things

Project 365.... Again

I love the idea of a photo journal for the year... I am attempting to do Project 365 again this year... Last year, I made it for the longest yet- about 3 months! This year, I hope to make it super easy for myself to finish... I'm not always going to process the pictures or put frames on them or anything... It will just be the picture that makes me think of something special or important from that day (and it doesn't have to be a pretty picture either)... So, here goes! You can find my Project 365 here: 365 Moments
