My Mother's Day

Jas was so nice last night! He bought some Japanese sushi plates and bowls. Then, he made stirfry with steak and shrimp and rice. He also went to get sushi for me.

We thought it would be fun to watch the girls try to use chopsticks, but it kinda turned out to be a funny disaster... It was past their bedtime, and they were hungry and Kylie is sick (not a good combo for a special, relaxing meal! ) Our problems started with lost chopsticks and then moved to being scared that shrimp could be in the rice or anything (Kylie's not into shrimp!)

The funniest part was this little crayfish head!!

When Ari realized that it wasn't alive, she just kept saying over and over that she was so sad and could we get one that was alive!

She wanted to poke it with her chopsticks and later she held it, but she did NOT want me to eat it!!! So, the little guy is in our freezer right now because Kylie wanted to draw a picture of him and Ari insisted that I should not eat him... Everyone was so sad and crying, so we had to put them in bed and finish supper... Even though it wasn't the most successful supper, it made me so happy to be a mom and be needed for comforting. I love the chaos sometimes!!

We usually go to a Mother Daughter Banquet at Jas' parent's church... It was especially nice this year. The girls and I loved the meal (I can't believe how much of the food the girls wanted!) and the little devotional was really good! We had so much fun! Here is a picture of Janet and the girls...

I was sooooo excited to get my first Mother's Day present from school this year! Kylie made this for me and it was in a little decorated bag with a card!! :)

Ari and I had a fun day at the mall and Skyline Chilli (Ari's favorite) on Thursday. :)

Sunshine!

This week has been amazing!! So warm and sunny!!! Today turned out good even though rain was in the forcast! My friend and I have gone for looooong walks (Yes, we have been one of the many people that appear all excited about losing weight when the weather starts getting nice. The sidewalks are full of sunny day exercisers and moms that are VERY ready to get their kids outside after the winter hibernation!) I went to get our yearly pool the other day. This poor guy had to dig out the only pink one only to find that it had a hole in the bottom. Now tell me why it is still there?! Who wants a hole in the bottom of their brand new plastic pool? So, we went with the blue and crammed in the back of the mini van. I LOVE MINI VANS! They are the best mom invention in the world! I also found PINK sand!!! The girls turned this into "icecream" and the fun lasted for at least an hour or more.... Thank you, Crayola for thinking of dyeing the sand (and for not making it dye clothes too!)

There's a party in heaven!!

Born into God's family on April 11, 2008!!!!

Yesterday, before our nap, Ari said, "I want to have Jesus in my heart." She has been talking about this quite a bit lately and always gets upset that she doesn't have Jesus in her heart. But, this time, she brought it up out of the blue and never switched the subject. We talked a little bit about why she wanted to do this and what it meant. Then, I asked if she would like to ask Him into her heart, and she said yes! She asked me to help her pray. She said that she wanted me to go to heaven with her. I think that she thought she would be going immediately after she was saved. :) I was glad that she wanted me to go with her. :) I am just so full of happiness writing this right now!! I always thought it would be so awesome to lead at least one of my children to Jesus, but I was blessed to pray with both of my girls!!! What a happy day!! Jas had the best birthday present ever!! It's so amazing to imagine the party that is going on in heaven for my little girl!!

Ari's thoughts on Doughnuts...

The other day, Ari and I were eating lunch, and I made the mistake of eating a doughnut hole... (If I eat one, that only leads to eating more and more and more.... ok, the rest of the box!!!) While eating them, Ari said, "Doughnuts are not good for you." I agreed, and she said, "But we could pretend they are!" Now, that is the way to enjoy doughnuts!! :)

Well, we are starting to feel better around our house! Jas doused everything with Lysol a couple days ago to kill off whatever got us. Now.... we huddle in fear waiting for the next illness to attack! It snowed tonight; so, maybe Kylie will have a delay. If not, Ari and I are going to venture out into civilization tomorrow!!!! *picture us covering our eyes as we are blinded by daylight* We will grab some Kroger germs from the cart to bring home with the groceries. Then, we should be feeling back to normal (which means sick in our home) again soon. HA! Lots of Love to everyone!! Beware of the germs!

Tonight, Jas took me out on a date for my birthday. I really love sushi! Usually, I eat what I call the sissy kind- the spicy tuna rolls and the spicy salmon rolls. They are wrapped up in rice and not scary. But, tonight, I felt adventuous. So, I went for it and ordered a plate of sushi and sashimi (is that how you spell it?)! It was a large plate filled with all sorts of stuff (and I had no idea what any of it was!) How fun is that?! Anyway, I asked the waitress if she could tell me what everything was, and it included California rolls (sissy sushi), salmon, red snapper, and tuna with rice under them (less sissy), and the same kinds of sashimi in squares-all alone (daring!) Ok, anyway, it was all AWESOME. Once, Jas took a Japanese customer to eat here, and he taught Jas how to eat it. So, we mixed up a concoction of soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi (which will clear out your sinuses fast by the way) to dip it in. Oh my goodness! I told Jas I hope that there is sushi in heaven!

After eating, we went to the video game store (for about 5 seconds-guys are fast shoppers). Then, we went to Half Price Books (for about 1 hour-I'm not so fast). I would love to work there some day along with Starbucks and Barnes and Noble and Halmark and... on and on. There are so many little jobs that I want to have, I would have to have 2 lifetimes to try them all out. I think that most of the jobs would be just to support my habits and satisfy my curiosity. Like the book store would just trade my paycheck for the pile of books that I want. And, Starbucks would give me coffee in exchange for me working (and learning how to make all that good stuff). Halmark would trade laughs and scrapbooking inspiration for my time. ETC....

Here is a funny picture. Kylie and Ari are doing "freezer time". And no, it's not some form of child abuse or weird punishment. lol. They both have croup right now (They sound like a couple of seals barking). So, in order to calm the cough we do "freezer time". Don't they look cute?

And, here is my sicky blowing her nose. She puts A LOT of effort into it as you will see! :)

My Prince Charming

Once upon a time there was a guy. He was a normal guy who did normal guy things. Then, he became a dad to two little princesses. At the beginning, he did guy things with his first princess. He tossed her around, picked on her, and wrestled with her. However, as time wore on,something began to happen to him. His little princesses began to dress him up in royal attire.

They gave him pedicures and...

... taught him to dance.

He was mothered a lot! They made him take his vitamins. They packed his lunch and told him which order to eat it in- healthy stuff first, of course! And, they helped him to feel better when he was sick. (Well, at least they tried to!)

They gave him makeovers...

...and taught him how to snuggle, kiss, and say cute little girly words. Pretty soon, this guy had become a real softy. His heart had turned to mush, and he was easily manipulated. He was only a fraction of his original self. .....And, I am proud of the sweet daddy that he was and will always be! We love you, Jas!
